Recent Breakthrough from Brazilian Researchers Shows Promise for Treating Canine Skin Conditions with CBD Oil
In a landmark study, scientists at the Federal University of Santa Catarina in Brazil have uncovered a groundbreaking treatment for dogs suffering from discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE), a common autoimmune skin disease. Traditionally treated with corticosteroids, which can stress the liver, this study highlights full-spectrum CBD oil as a potentially safer, long-term solution.
Understanding DLE and Its Challenges
DLE in dogs causes hair loss, redness, and severe skin lesions. Although corticosteroids can be effective, they have significant side effects, particularly impacting liver health. The study, published in Frontiers in Veterinary Science, tracks a two-year-old dog with DLE treated with CBD oil. Starting with one drop per day, the dosage was adjusted for optimal symptom relief.
Remarkable Improvements Observed
Within weeks, the dog showed significant improvements in both skin health and liver function. The transition from corticosteroids to CBD oil not only improved the dog's physical health but also its behavior, resulting in a happier, more energetic pet.
