Even for those who live in regions unsuitable for pure sativa cultivation, these plants allow them to enjoy an invigorating high. While conventional varieties can take more than 14 weeks to flower, autoflowers are fully mature in just a few months. Moreover, this option will make the entire cycle easier for you when cultivating indoors, as the bushes are relatively small.

Autoflowering yields may seem very modest compared to photoperiods. However, it is worth noting that you can perform several cycles at the same time in one season. Moreover, flowering sativa is much less demanding and resistant to stress. For beginners, it is probably better to stop at this option.

The main differences between sativa and indica cannabis strains

Sativa strains will take much longer to grow. For this reason, they are suitable mainly for the southern regions of the country.

Sativa buds will be more loose (loose) and elongated. Therefore, there is constant air circulation in them and they are less prone to mold.

A sativa does not stop growing when it enters the flowering stage. This should be taken into account when growing at home. Otherwise, the bush will easily outgrow the box.

Sativa requires much more experience and care of the gardener, but also produces about 2-3 times more buds.

Sativa branches will most likely need tying. It is often difficult for them to bear the weight of the flower on their own.

Simply put, indica is more compact, less capricious, matures faster and has a stoner effect. Sativa, on the other hand, has a high effect, is distinguished by a record yield (which lasts for several seasons) and requires more experience of the grower.

How to grow sativa strains of cannabis?

In order to balance the first factor and to be able to grow the plant outside the house, it is necessary to transplant already grown bushes. For this, the seeds should germinate already in March-April. By the time the desired temperature outside is reached (at least 15 degrees during the night), the plants will already be fully grown enough to bloom before the autumn frosts.

In the case of the second factor, the most important thing is to choose a place where there will be fresh water, because sativa bushes "drink" a lot of water, without this it will be extremely difficult to maintain the necessary humidity (especially if you grow more than 10 bushes). It is also recommended to plant plants in pre-prepared soil holes.

If we talk about growing at home, then the main difficulty lies in the size of the bushes. This can be solved in two ways. First, choose a larger box. MEore - regulate the growth of the bush with the volume of the pot and transfer the plant to early flowering. It is better to use cloth pots. In this case, the roots will be pruned with air and they will not curl around the pot. The plant itself will not stretch too much. The moment when you can start flowering is when the plant reaches the size you want. Note that sativas will approximately double in size after germination. Therefore, once the bush has filled about 40% of the usable area, switch the lights to 12/12 mode.

Fertility is one of the main characteristics of sativa, which is why growers love this type of cannabis. With proper care, just one sativa bush can yield 1-3 kg. Such indicators, of course, can be achieved only when growing in nature. But indoors, you can also grow crops in quantities that are quite sufficient before the start of the next season.

To maximize yield indoors, the grower must master some appropriate techniques. It is recommended to choose photoperiodic varieties, because in case of stress, they can fully recover by prolonging the vegetation process.
